I had to table this introduction until I could get a number of emerging tools and ideas to synchronize,
and I needed to be sure I did not step on certain IP before I released RichRender.
In the last three months here's what has happened:
RichRender as pip-code has evolved considerably now incorporating other projects ( Q-Set/Set|Files, AbSynth and Fathom, as well as laying foundations for Glyphorm... all to be revealed and detailed here soon.)
The first tangible Tool:
The Kicker - the icon for this feature-heavy editor is larger than the whole program
Markdown can be neatly viewed and edited as clean Rich Text with a 100% 1:1 relationship between Markdown and HTML by using Rich Markdown, RichRender and RenderHTML.
RichWright will be Open Source with it's JS libraries that allow it to be easily skinned and embedded into you webpage:
Reading, Editing and Exporting Markdown, HTML and Printable documents all from a single common document code!
But it is written so simply you can run it from a folder on your desktop.
RichRender code stores RichText styling (and more) at byte level compactness - allowing a heavily styled text to be stored in a document enough smaller than HTML that if email alone were using RichRender the world would save about 13TWh of power - that's the power consumption of the city of Phoenix, Arizona!
There is a lot of work to be done before we really launch but this will be the home of all things RichRender:
The Numbers - here's how we got the ~13TWh savings number:
Calculation
Well - Out of date pages these were made in March...
The library and GUI pages are really in alpha stage at this point, but serve as test platforms and demonstrations of the core concept.
At this point this is the BitWise version of RichRender developed to handle 95% of email, and web-based text editing.
